Watch out for domain name scams

Domain name expiration scam

There are a few unscrupiulous companies sending out letters to domain name owners implying that your domain name is about to expire and you need to renew it.

They use a confusion tactic to imply that you need to re-register with them in order to keep hold of your domain name.

Simply throw it in the bin, it's another internet scam as they are simply trying to transfer your domain to their registration company.

If your domain name is about to expire you will receive notification 60 or 30 days prior to the expiration date, but it will come from the company you registered the domain name with.
